Halloween Week • Day 1. Yikes..my first cakes and a FREE Halloween countdown printable.

This week I am going to post some Halloween and Fall cakes, cupcakes and dessert tables from the past along with some great FREE craft ideas and printable projects. My first experience with decorating cakes was when I took the Wilton 1 class at my local Michaels. That was Fall of 2008 and I knew nothing about decorating cakes. Since the class was around Halloween, I made a candy corm theme cake for the final project using a star tip to decorate the cake and a simple iced cake. The very first cupcakes I made were for a friend’s party that same year. Mini monsters and ghosts, once again using my start tip since that was the only thing I knew how to use, were the perfect little treats for the party. Yes…we all start somewhere and it’s hard to believe where my single “just for fun” cake class has taken me. So, for all my friends who are just starting out, keep decorating on because you never know where it will take you 🙂

For all my friends with young children, this is a fun way to count down to Halloween. Plus, it’s a great way to learn about numbers 🙂 Click here to hop on over to Yellow Bliss Road’s blog to download this adorable FREE printable.
