by For those of you wondering why the cake below has no icing on it and you think I made a mistake, it’s supposed to be that way. It’s called a naked cake and is a style couples are selecting for their weddings. It’s actually very pretty and organic looking. For today’s wedding at Moonstone Manor, I created a 3-tier naked cake and cupcakes for the guests. The theme was inspired by Jane Austin. The decor included vintage books, greenery, gold, silver, and blush and peach florals.
The cake flavor was coconut cake with salted caramel buttercream filling. The cupcake flavors included marble cupcakes with almond buttercream frosting and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
