All I have to say is this is one of the most amazing DIY weddings I’ve ever seen. Morgan and Cliff had their reception at the very charming Perfect Settings in downtown Columbia. I loved the venue. Lots of natural lighting, hard wood flooring and a beautiful open space. The vintage look of the reception included turquoise and greens. I created a cupcake display on a credenza belonging to Morgan’s mom. I dressed it up with crocheted doilies, cake stands and some vintage boxes.
Morgan ordered the adorable paper cake topper from Etsy shop Ready Go.
The cupcake flavors included Red Velvet, Vanilla Vanilla and Cafe Mocha. I always love when there are some extra florals to decorate the cake table with.
The table numbers were one of Cliff and Morgan’s favorite projects. They collected old, hardcover books from local thrift stores. Cliff tore all the covers off and ripped the first 30 pages to give the book texture. Morgan then stenciled numbers on each one in their wedding colors and wrapped each book with a piece of burlap and bakers twine. All of the colored glassware were also wonderful thrift store finds.
Morgan purchased cream tulle and turquoise and olive ribbon and wrapped every Chiavari chair. It looked amazing.
The wishing tree was created with branches and garland placed it in a tall glass vase. Each guest wrote a wish and hung it from the tree.
The escort cards were one of my favorite details from the wedding. Morgan ordered manilla shipping tags online and tea stained each one. Her Matron of Honor’s husband found the old skeleton keys on ebay and her Dad cleaned and polished each one. Morgan’s mom was nice enough to write each guests name on the tags and each key was tied with bakers twine using the wedding colors.
Each chair had a tag hanging from it with the guest’s name to match with the escort cards.
LOVED the chairs 🙂
The “cards” sign was an idea Morgan found on Pinterest. She purchases the card stock at A.C. Moore and printed the letters out on her home computer. Morgan found the table cloth at a thrift store which was actually an old curtain. What a great find.
Morgan’s Pap, who is the master cookie maker in the family was sweet enough to make all of the cookie favors the week before the wedding with her Grandma and a few other family members. All in all they made about 45 dozen cookies! Cliff and Morgan made the packaging for all the cookies out of pages of old books and Morgan ran each one through her sewing machine to make a “pouch”. Cliff stamped and edged each one. Each pouch was then painted with gold or rose gold paint. The cookies were tucked into the pouches and sealed with a personalized sticker.

Cliff and Morgan wanted to make the wedding extra personal. They did a lot of searching the internet, looking at books and playing around with ideas. All of the details and personal touches made their wedding simply spectacular.
Congrats again Morgan and Cliff 🙂
