It always makes me happy when I get to work on a baby shower for one of my previous brides. When Cyndi’s mom called me to let me she was putting together a baby shower for Cyndi and she wanted me to do a sweets table for the event I was thrilled. When she mentioned it was a baseball theme shower I got even more excited because my family pretty much lives for baseball. Both of my boys play baseball and I couldn’t ask for a better theme.
I wanted to create a large decorative piece to hang above the table. I made the fans out of blue and red wrapping paper I purchased at the Dollar Store and put some baseball theme stickers over the centers. I purchased a few pre-made tissue fan balls from Target which I just opened in half and glued a foamcore board. I glued all the pieces to the board to make it easier to hang. The baseball in the middle is a rug I borrowed from my son’s room π
I wanted to do a sweet little cake as part of the table design, so I made a buttercream ruffle cake decorated with a BABY banner I made.
I created the labels for the candy, goodies and favor bags. The adorable invitation was purchased from the Etsy shop Polka Dot Prints.
To tie in the baseball theme I included peanuts in the display and also had treats including caramel creme candy and made chocolate dipped pretzel sticks.
For favors, I put treats including chocolate baseballs, caramel corn and peanuts in cellophane bags and decorated each with a custom tag.
Baby Ruth bars and Cracker Jacks are certainly a must for a baseball party π
Mini cupcakes were included on the sweets table. The flavors included white cake with raspberry buttercream frosting, chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate cupcakes with cookies and cream frosting.
I also made my favorite French macarons and iced baseball theme sugar cookies. Sweeties by Kim made the adorable gourmet baseball chocolate dipped Oreos.
I styled the cake pops in little wooden boxes which I sprinkled with sunflower seeds since they are a must in any dugout.
Cyndi’s mom hung this adorable clothesline with baby baseball clothes…so cute!
It was an honor being a part of two of Cyndi’s most important events in her life so far π If you want to see her beautiful wedding….click here.
