Nicole & Brandon’s Wedding…Modern Elegance

Nicole and Brandon had their reception on the 12th floor at the Harrisburg University. Stunning views of downtown Harrisburg really added a spectacular touch to this wedding. The cake design was modern, elegant and chic. Silver, gold, peonies and edible broach accents decorated the cake. The window frames really complimented the geometric lines of the cake.

Nicole graduated from Notre Dame and Brandon from Penn State. At the tasting, Brandon loved the combination of banana cake with vanilla mint icing. Nicole had me make these jumbo cupcakes with that special combination with a little tribute to their alma maters.

The cake flavor was banana cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream fillings. I really loved the flavors together.

The wedding was photographed by one of my very favorite photographers Jen Baltgalvis. She is just incredibly gifted and her photography is just amazing. All of the photos on this blog post were provided by Jen.

David Everett with Weddings by JDK worked his magic and transformed the wide open empty space into a stunning reception area. The bar area was enclosed in shears and looked so elegant with the romantic uplighting.

The beautiful floral designs and catering were also designed and provided by Weddings by JDK. Mercury glass tied the gold and silver theme into the table designs.
