Melissa & Justin’s Oct. 31st wedding & spooktacular sweets table

Melissa and Justin were married October 31st at Casa di Fiori at Leola Village Inn. This was my first time at the venue and I loved it! The wedding included a traditional ceremony but after the ceremony, guests were invited to change into costumes for the rest of the evening. Everyone I saw dressed looked amazing…definitely an upscale costume party. The decor for the reception was elegant but during dinner, the 6 foot round escort card table in the entry area was converted into a sweets table which I had the honor of creating. Melissa decided to incorporate a touch of the Halloween spirit into the design since the wedding was on Halloween night. This view is from the front facing the dining room.

Since the table was round and in the middle of the room there were even more treats on the back. Here’s the view from the other side. The wedding colors were charcoal grey and deep purple with accents of lime green and orange.

There was a huge selection of candy and goodies to choose from including chocolate cake pops, marshmallow pops, gourmet popcorns and tons of candy.

Rock candy sticks, whirley pops, M&M’s, black licorice, candy corn and gummies were just a few of the sweets requested by the couple.

White chocolate dipped mummy pretzel sticks.

Mini gourmet cupcakes included chocolate cake with chocolate hazelnut frosting, chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and white cake with raspberry buttercream frosting.

Guests were able to take goodies home in bags which I hand stamped with the couples wedding logo that Melissa designed.

The collage above are photos taken by Kelly Steadman with All Things Beautiful. Here are her notes on the photos featured. The bride carried a bouquet of deep dark purple Swartzwalder mini Callas, Uluhe Fern Shoots with sparkling accents, Moon Shade and Moon Vista Carnations and Cymbidium Orchids. Flower Girls carried spheres of green Poms and Tissue Statice. A few centerpieces were little lanterns with moss, candles and floating Dendrobium Orchids. The gift card ‘Coffin’ which said. “Deposit Souls Here”. Click here to see her full blog post.

I has so much fun designing this. Congratulations Melissa and Justin on your amazing wedding and new life together!

I certainly think a sweets table is a wonderful feature in a wedding reception. It’s something every guest will enjoy and becomes an attractive design element in the reception space. More couples are opting to use their favor budget towards a candy or sweet table.

Here’s what the bride had to say:
“The dessert table was AWESOME! It was absolutely perfect and could not have been any better. Everybody raved about it and it was the hit of the night. It just looked so cool!!! Again, thanks SO MUCH! It was seriously the most perfect thing ever. Everybody keeps asking who did the candy bar, so I’m spreading your name like wildfire! We couldn’t have asked for a better vendor.”
