I have never been to the Antique Auto Museum in Hershey, but did a wedding there last Satruday. It is really an incredible place. The reception was in an area with an old soda shop, buses and more. The event was catered by Creative Quisine who did the adorable candy bar. The bride requested individual cakes for the parents, so I created flanking stands next to the main cupcake tower. The cupcake flavors were red velvet with honey cream cheese icing, carrot cake with honey cream cheese icing, chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter buttercream icing, vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream icing and chocolate cake with oreo icing. Everything looked so beautiful…especially the bride.
Here’s what the mother of the bride had to say:
Hi Jasmine, I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know what a fabulous job you did with Steph and Jason’s wedding on Saturday. Hmmm, where to start?…. First, it was wonderful of you to let her pick so many flavors when it would have been much easier for you to set a limit – we just couldn’t choose. I have to say my personal favorite was the carrot cupcake, but as I did at the tasting, I’ve sampled several others as well. All were yummy.
In the beginning, we were leaning toward the cake as I thought the “wow” factor would be bigger. However, by putting small cakes on the top and both sides, the effect was nearly the same. We found cupcakes much easier to serve though, with many people taking them home to enjoy later. The different colored leaves worked well and everyone was able to look at the list to pick their favorite flavor. The leaves? I just kept staring at them. My favorite part for sure…..I LOVED that the leaves weren’t just a flat color, but had different color variations within each one, along with that beautiful shimmer on each. I also loved the way you curled, shaped, formed each one to look so real.
So, thank you so much for making our visions of a fall cake into a reality.
