Sweet Love – Hillary & Matt’s Wedding

Sometimes I go into a venue to deliver a cake and I get really excited when I see what the couple has done with the decor. Hillary and Matt’s wedding really made my day yesterday! Wait until you see this post 🙂 I would describe the look as rustic, charming, tons of details and just BEAUTIFUL.

Hillary wanted a cake that was fitting with the reception decor. She requested a cake that looked like it had a spackle finish with buttercream and sugar flowers to coordinate with her wedding flowers. She found an amazing vintage cart for the cake to be placed on and she also created the sweet bunting banner which hung above the cake.

I created sugar peony, ranunculus and small blossoms to decorate the cake. Aren’t the little wooden bird toppers adorable?

The reception took place at Wind at the Willows in Grantville. I LOVED the venue. It’s a beautiful private barn overlooking the countryside and just charming. The owners were so nice.

As you pull up to the barn, there is this cool retro truck parked next to the barn. Love it!

Hillary is a set designer, and she used her talent to incorporate so many amazing details to make her reception extra special and personalized. I love the guest book table. She had a photo book for guests to sign and a beautiful display of family photos.

I think this has to be my very favorite detail. A vintage typewriter on the table where guests were instructed to write a note to the couple in the photobook.

The escort cards were on seed packets and clipped to twine and hung against the wall. Another wonderful detail.

Love it!

Wind at the Willows in just as charming as you can get. I love the wood beams with delicate hanging twinkle lights. The DJ area is in a rafter slightly above where the guests sit.
